We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Wayne State University's 13th president, Kimberly Andrews Espy, Ph.D., who joined WSU this summer, as well as the 1,500 new transfer students who have become Warriors and an important part of our campus community. 

Our new transfers hail from institutions around the world, but the majority still come from Michigan two-year colleges.We're proud that those students had an outstanding second-year retention rate of more than 86% overall.

We have recently updated many resources that will help your students transition to Wayne State, including:

The Wayne State University Board of Governors voted unanimously to elect Kimberly Andrews Espy, Ph.D., as the university’s 13th president, effective Aug. 1, 2023. Mark Gaffney, chair of the Board of Governors, made the announcement.

Students transferring to Wayne State for winter 2024 can review the class schedule now and plan to take advantage of the university’s new flat-rate tuition.

Under the new tuition structure, undergraduate students will pay the same price whether they register for 12 credits or 18 during any one semester.

The Wayne State University Division of Engineering Technology is inviting applications for scholarships as part of its Assuring Student Success in Engineering Technology (ASSET) project. The scholarships, valued at up to $10,000 per year, are offered to eligible students transferring into any of the Engineering Technology's undergraduate programs.

In celebration of the 10-year partnership between Schoolcraft College and Wayne State University, the institutions announced an expanded agreement that provides transfer students with a clear path from an associate degree to a bachelor’s, limiting any loss of credits and helping families save tuition dollars.

Wayne State University is one of only three public universities in Michigan named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society 2023 Transfer Honor Roll in recognition of the dynamic pathways it has created to support community college transfer students. This is the sixth year WSU has received the designation.
