Facilitated by Sarah Kiperman and MaryAnne Stewart in partnership with the Office of Faculty Affairs and Development and WSU-GEARS, this unique program draws inspiration from evidence-based psychoeducation methods, leveraging the insightful content from our specially curated book. Workshops will be offered in person at the Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, and virtually on Zoom at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2.

Effective Graduate MentoringJoin our office virtually at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, as Jeff Pruchnic, Associate Dean for Student Affairs in the Graduate School, shares best practices for mentoring graduate students. In this session, we will cover best practices for graduate student mentoring and how to navigate challenging advising scenarios. Topics discussed will include how to create robust mentoring networks and how to craft advising agreements that empower both mentors and mentees.

ALA information sessionsApplications to the next Academic Leadership Academy (ALA) cohort are open through April 19. By participating in the one-year program, participants, known as ALA Fellows, build on their emerging leadership skills by applying what they learn to their current roles or a leadership project. Promotion and Tenure for Tenure-Track FacultyJoin our office virtually at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 4, for an overview of the faculty promotion and tenure (P&T) process, followed by a panel of faculty who recently completed the P&T process. We'll go over how the P&T process is completed, the materials needed for packets, what to expect throughout, and how to prepare your professional record for P&T, after which the panel will be available to address attendees' questions.
