Office of Multicultural Student Engagement - Wayne State University

Hello Wayne State!

February is Black History Month! Black History Month became a tradition to be celebrated in 1976; Wayne State is excited to celebrate the impact and culture of African Americans not only at Wayne State, but throughout the world!

Attached is the calendar of events put together by various departments, student organizations, and community members to celebrate the month! This year's calendar is packed with very exciting events throughout the course of the entire month.

Please note that there may be some events that are not listed due to the timing of the submission for this calendar.

For an extended and more up-to-date list of events, please visit GetInvolved or the WSU Black History Month Events Calendar.

Please mark your calendar for what you can attend and feel free to share with others.
We look forward to seeing you at an event soon!

Wayne State University rests on Waawiyaataanong, also referred to as Detroit, the ancestral and contemporary homeland of the Three Fires Confederacy. These sovereign lands were granted by the Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi, and Wyandot nations, in 1807, through the Treaty of Detroit. Wayne State University affirms Indigenous sovereignty and honors all tribes with a connection to Detroit. With our Native neighbors, WSU can advance educational equity and promote a better future for the earth and all people.
