Dear Wayne State faculty, students and staff,
It has been a challenging time at Wayne State University for many students, faculty and staff. We take this opportunity to remind you of resources you can take advantage of as we all continue to promote a safe, welcoming, inclusive campus for all.
For students, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides free and confidential mental health support, including counseling, case management and referrals for currently registered WSU students. CAPS also offers workshops, consultation and outreach and is staffed with licensed professional counselors, psychologists, social workers, a psychiatrist and graduate-level clinical trainees. Students can schedule an initial consultation to see which service best meets their needs (link is active Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).
For faculty and staff, WSU provides an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for all benefits-eligible employees and eligible family members. This free benefit provides access to counseling, coaching and crisis support. Any interaction with EAP is confidential; call for support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year: 1-800-448-8326.
For a comprehensive list of the many other support services that we provide for students, faculty and staff, visit our Campus Health and Safety Resources page.
Thank you for your care for our campus community,
Dr. Kimberly Andrews Espy
President
