Office of Assessment, Accreditation and Continuous Quality Improvement - School of Medicine

Sending on behalf of Kanye L. Gardner, Director of Continuous Quality Improvement

We were recently asked through our Warrior Med Suggestions Program how Wayne State University School of Medicine students can access Computing and Information Technology resources.

While the School of Medicine has a dedicated C&IT department for Wayne State students, faculty, staff, and guests, their primary focus is on WSU-issued PCs, laptops, and systems like Wi-Fi and testing software specifically for these university-owned devices.

Please refer to the Main Campus C&IT department for technical issues with personal computers. They have the staff equipped to support these concerns.

C&IT Help Desk:

The C&IT Help Desk offers IT support for Wayne State students, faculty, staff, and guests, including first-contact resolution and speedy escalation to IT professionals when appropriate. Services include computer and mobile device diagnostics and repairs, free and discounted software, and more. The help desk observes all university holidays and closures.

For Computer and Device Repairs:

The C&IT Help Desk offers walk-in computer diagnostic and repair services exclusively to Wayne State University students, faculty and staff for personal, non-university owned computers. WSU departments that have university-owned computers in need of service should contact their local technical support staff.

Drop in during business hours for a free consultation or call ahead for a repair time estimate. Many problems can be resolved for free while you wait.

The C&IT Help Desk will provide front counter computing diagnostics and repair at no charge (approx. 20 minutes max). This includes virus removal and connection to WSU networks. If your problem cannot be resolved at the front counter, you may choose any of their paid services. Turnaround time for paid services is typically three to five business days.
