Dear WSU community, This week, Wayne State University has welcomed nearly 7,000 new students to campus. I write to express my deep gratitude to each of you who volunteered in any way to ensure that this week was such a success. Fall Opening featured a variety of exciting events welcoming our community to campus, including move-in, academic school and college welcomes, Convocation, FestiFall, wayfinding, and more. We were able to accomplish a strong opening because of the support of each of you, our remarkable faculty, staff, and students. As I have attended events and walked through campus each day, I have seen the results of your efforts and heard them in the many comments from students and their families. Many spoke of the deep sense of community they were already experiencing from your work. I am deeply grateful for your commitment to our students and their success. And now, the fall semester is officially underway, and we are ready! I look forward to an exciting academic year ahead, including our Year of Focus. Thank you again for a successful opening. Sincerely, Laurie M. Lauzon Clabo, PhD, RN, FAAN |
