Dear Wayne State faculty, As previously announced, the Canvas plagiarism review tool changes from Unicheck to Turnitin Similarity on Friday, Oct. 25. We are working with our vendor to migrate the assignment database for future comparisons and faculty need to edit their current assignment settings to maintain reporting. Additional information including project timeline, FAQ, and training is available on our website. Impact on past assignmentsReports for past assignments will remain available until Oct. 25, and can be exported by students and faculty before then to retain for reference. Please share this information with your students as appropriate. Your action neededTurnitin Similarity is available in Canvas now, and any current assignments created with Unicheck as the plagiarism review tool will need to be edited to use Turnitin Similarity before Oct. 25, to retain reporting. Assignments that are not edited to use Turnitin Similarity and still have Unicheck as the chosen plagiarism review tool will default to no plagiarism review. We understand that you rely on plagiarism review as a part of your instruction, and we are working closely with our vendor to make this change as easy as possible. Virtual training with Turnitin will be available later this month, and event information will be shared via email soon. This change is being made because Unicheck was acquired by Turnitin and the application is being retired. We apologize for any inconvenience this change creates and thank you for your continued dedication to student success. Sincerely,
