Welcome As we kick off the new academic year, we are excited to share some updates and opportunities with you: - Wayne State University has been named one of the top 100 public universities in the country in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best College rankings, which were released on Sept. 24. The annual survey — aimed to guide prospective students and their families — evaluated 1,500 universities and colleges, using 17 measures of academic quality in its assessment. The latest edition prioritizes social mobility and post-graduate success. Wayne State’s strong showing is buoyed by its No. 62 ranking in social mobility, a significant improvement of 89 spots, or 59% over last year.
- Wayne State University is one of only three public universities in Michigan named to the Transfer Honor Roll by Phi Theta Kappa. This honor reflects our unwavering commitment to supporting transfer students and enhancing their academic journey, and marks our eighth consecutive year on this prestigious list.
- We're looking ahead to National Transfer Student Week Oct. 21-25, during which we'll celebrate the Transfer Warriors who make up a significant portion of our graduating class each year. We have a range of events lined up to recognize their hard work and the faculty and staff who support them, so make sure to encourage your students to join these events and get to know Wayne State.
- Register for the Transfer Success and Recognition Summit on Thursday, Dec. 5. During the summit, community college counselors, advisors, faculty and leaders will delve into transfer success strategies, collaborate on ways to further support transfers and recognize transfer champions.
Thank you for being a part of our vibrant community. As always, we want your feedback and to find ways to better work together, so please keep in touch with us. With Warrior pride, Michael Quattro, Director of Educational Outreach and Transfer Initiatives |
