A College of Engineering Hall of Famer who enjoyed a 33-year career at General Motors, Smolenski was presented the Homer D. Strong Award for distinguished service to the university, encouraging alumni participation and benefitting Wayne State through volunteer leadership.

From her undergraduate days at Wayne State, to gaining invaluable experience in Ohio working in the intelligence and national security domains, and ultimately her return home to Michigan, Trish Donnelly is now set to excel in accident reconstruction at Explico.

The Wayne State chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association, a team of seniors in WSU's construction management program, placed third in the 2024 Electrical Contracting Innovation Challenge, competing against top schools in an event focused on developing and presenting innovative electrical contracting proposals.

Semiconductor Day, in partnership with the Semi Foundation and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, was a unique networking opportunity for students to connect with industry leaders, gain insights into exciting projects and explore the career paths available in the semiconductor industry.

First-year Spotlight on Design

 

Friday, Dec. 6, 10 a.m.  |  Students compete for awards with projects completed in BE 1200: Design in Engineering, a course centered on the core principles of engineering practice: design, teamwork and professional ethics. This event empowers first-year students to pursue engineering excellence and nurture relevant problem-solving ideas that can cover a wide range of applications.

Fall 2024 Commencement  

Saturday, Dec. 14, 2 p.m.  |  Wayne State University will celebrate the academic achievements of the December 2023 graduating class from the College of Engineering. For friends and family members who are unable to attend in person at the WSU Fieldhouse, livestreaming will be available at wayne.edu/live.
