“7 Mile Livernois” at the Detroit Institute of Arts celebrates Detroit as a place for Black women to live and create by elevating both the work of the featured artist, Tiff Massey, and the community from which she comes. The exhibition draws attention to how Detroit is represented in the national – and even global – imagination.

Hosted by Midtown Detroit, Inc., the evening will feature local food, shopping, family crafts, live music, educational opportunities and much more, with nearly 100 participating businesses and vendors.
Legendary playwright/poet Ntozake Shange's form-changing choreopoem tells the stories of seven Black women using poetry, song and movement. The performance will run through Dec. 8 at the STUDIO at the Hilberry Gateway.
