Together, we continue to navigate disruption and uncertainty surrounding the new federal administration’s policies and priorities. The university leadership team is working hard to offer our community needed resources as quickly and as accurately as possible in this rapidly evolving environment.

In that spirit, we’re writing today to share guidance and information on:

• Potential federal immigration enforcement actions – we are aware of rumors of federal immigration enforcement on our campus. There is no evidence that any such activities have occurred. All law enforcement matters are addressed by our WSU Police Department. Therefore, if you are approached by outside law enforcement or encounter law enforcement in buildings or other areas of campus not typically accessible to the public, please call Wayne State Police at 313-577-2222.
   
• Media inquiries – the media have significant interest in federal administration transition issues. Our communications and marketing team is responsible for vetting and providing the university response to all media inquiries in a consistent, coordinated and accurate manner. If you receive a media inquiry about federal actions or their impact on the university, please contact Matt Lockwood at 248-622-8060.
