Dear Wayne State community, To offer top-tier service, value and choice to our campus community, we are delighted to announce that Wayne State University has launched an exciting new dining partnership with SodexoMagic. Partnering with this joint venture between Sodexo and Magic Johnson Enterprises will bring a transformative dining experience to our campus. Following a competitive bidding process, SodexoMagic was unanimously selected as the university’s dining services vendor by a committee that included faculty, staff and students. The partnership, which begins July 1, aims to elevate campus dining, boost convenience and access, and add innovative culinary concepts to meet the wide variety of dietary needs and preferences of our campus community. Under the new partnership, SodexoMagic will provide catering as well as food and facilities management for the university’s main residential dining hall, Towers Café. Campus retail locations that will be covered under the arrangement include Midtown Market, Choolaah, Taco Bell, Panda Express, Subway, Sushi Kabar, Starbucks and The Grind. We want to thank our current food services vendor, Aramark, for its diligent efforts over the years. Just as importantly, we also want to extend our appreciation to the dedicated employees who currently staff our food services operations. Many will have the opportunity to continue their employment at Wayne State through SodexoMagic when the new partnership begins. Our aim is to create a dining program that exceeds your expectations and reflects the cultural, dietary and nutritional needs of the full scope of our diverse, energetic university. Working with SodexoMagic will allow us to provide these dining services while heightening our focus on efficiency, transparency and customer satisfaction. This partnership will further enrich campus life and foster greater student success while aligning with the university’s mission. The new collaboration reflects not only our commitment to quality services on campus but also our desire to strengthen bonds between the campus and the city we call home. This partnership will create even more bridges between WSU and a variety of local businesses while maintaining a focus on sustainability and innovation. We look forward to a collaboration that enhances our campus experience and meets the needs of our university and our surrounding community. Sincerely, Laurie M.
