From your DIO
On the Gold Humanism Honor Society This past summer, GME was very pleased to announce that an Otolaryngology resident, Michael T. Chung, had been elected to membership in the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS), an organization established under the auspices of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation to recognize senior medical students, residents, fellows, and physician-educators “who are exemplars of humanistic patient care and who can serve as models, mentors, and leaders in medicine.” In this year’s incoming resident cohort, GME welcomed Monica Hessler (TY), who as a third-year medical student in WSUSOM became a member of GHHS and subsequently served on the Executive Board of the SOM GHHS Chapter (see the Resident Spotlight in this issue). I’d like to take this opportunity to provide everyone with a bit more information about the Gold Foundation and GHHS, who share our values and beliefs, commitment to compassionate care, and advocacy of wellness and supportive networks as the foundation of professional growth. | | GME News and Announcements | From the GME staff: Best wishes for a happy and safe holiday season! We would like to extend to the entire GME community all best wishes for a happy and hopeful holiday season. And many thanks, once again, for all your hard work and commitment to providing the best in patient care.
